UNTITLED

LOVE

what is it about this intense emotion

that becomes to difficult to restrain

to hold back

passion bursting at the seams of a lonely soul

yearning for someone's touch

to fill this void within

emptiness-

compelling us to search the faces of others

for a hint, a connection on some level

this intense emotion-love

leading us to believe that somehow

by the touch of a hand, the soft whisper of one's voice

the gaze from one's eyes

somehow we are provided a glimpse of what "could be"

happiness-for just one brief moment in time

that perhaps, just perhaps-this strangers very presence

holds the key

to unlock this pandora's box

unleashing all the pain, mistrust and hurt that stirs inside

and just perhaps-by their very presence

instead fill this box with all the affectionate devotion

we so truly long for

so passionate with the desire to be consumed

by this intense emotion

we are driven to the threshold of unbearable anguish

constantly seeking someone else's approval

as if by their very words, like magic

instantly we become whole!
